But, I've had the same wrist pains, and mine came from using the keyboard and mouse on a regular height desk top of 28.5 to 30 inches above floor level, along with regular height chairs. Try using a typewriter stand or calculator stand height of about 27.5 inches instead, for your keyboard and mouse. That's why computer desks have a separate level built-in. Another alternative, that I'm able to use successfully, may be to raise the height of the seat on which you sit, best done not with an actual desk that has a center drawer, but with a table (or a desk with only drawers off to the sides). The key is that your wrists must be able to relax even while typing.
